Critique and Commentary
A recipient of NEA, Guggenheim, and Pew Fellowships, Christopher Bursk is the author of thirteen books, including The Infatuations and Infidelities of Pronouns, Cell Count and The Improbable Swervings of Atoms (winner of the Donald Hall prize in Poetry from AWP) and most recently Selected Poems. His work has won the A nother Chicago Magazine Award, 49th Parallel Award from Bellingham Review, The New Letters Prize in Poetry, and the 2011 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Award. Bursk’s latest book is due March 2017, A Car Stops and a Door Opens.
Artistic Statement
As revolutionary leader of the Chris Bursk Poetry Workshop at Bucks County Community College for over 30 years, and through his tireless support of poets and poetry, along with a deep desire to create a culture of peace, Chris has created a very vibrant and vital poetry writing community in Bucks County, PA.
